PropRank ("us", "we", or "our") operates PropRank Real Estate Scraper for Zillow Chrome Extension (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding how the app works and what Zillow listing scrape data it collects.

How The App Works

The App is an extension that works with the Chrome web browser that:

  • Accesses the HTML of your tabs to read as raw data for scraping. This is needed to actually read the information on the page for the extension to run a script to extract the data.
  • Accesses the local storage system in your browser. It is required to save settings and scraped data in your browser so that data persists when your browser is closed.
  • Uses the "scripting" permission of the Chrome API key. This is needed to run JavaScript code to parse the HTML data in order for it to be scraped.

Data Collection and Privacy

Absolutely NO personally identifiable information is collected OR stored on our servers.

  • PropRank stores user ranking preferences locally using Chrome's storage API
  • No personal data is transmitted to external servers
  • Property data is extracted from Zillow.com for export purposes only
  • All data remains on your device
  • Exported files are saved directly to your computer

Browser Permissions

When installing the Chrome Extension, you may be prompted to authorize different permissions to your Chrome browser. Those authorizations will only be used to perform the service you are requesting from the extension that you have installed.

To revoke those permissions that you've granted to the App, you must uninstall the extension.

Third-Party Services

Information gathered by the App will never be sold or shared to external third parties.

  • This extension only works on Zillow.com
  • No data is shared with third parties

Your Privacy Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your information. You can:

  • Clear your preferences at any time through the extension settings
  • Uninstall the extension to remove all stored data
  • Access your Chrome storage settings to view stored data
